CLAUDIA Schiffer, the supermodel about to become a Suffolk bride, has closed the public footpath that runs next to her new luxury £5m home, ahead of her wedding tomorrow.

The temporary move – which was undertaken at the request of the German beauty and her film producer groom Matthew Vaughn on the advice of police by Suffolk County Council – heightens speculation that the star-studded bash WILL take place in or near the recently-purchased Coldham Hall, a huge Elizabethan mansion in Stanningfield, near Bury St Edmunds.

Details of the venue and timing of the event remain under wraps and even celebrity guests, who include Madonna and Guy Ritchie, with whom Mr Vaughn made hit movie Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, have not been told the exact venue for the wedding, although preparations for a disco reception at Coldham Hall were continuing.

A spokesman for the council told the Star the following consultation yesterday with Suffolk police and on the advice of the security consultants employed by the owners of Coldham Hall, Suffolk County Council will temporarily close part of 'footpath 4' in Stanningfield and part of 'footpath 1' in Lawshall from 2pm tomorrow to 2am on Sunday.

"This decision was taken on the grounds that due to the considerable public attention that the event being held this weekend at Coldham Hall will attract, there is a risk of public safety being compromised," he added.
