A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Ipswich has been bailed by police.

The 46-year-old man from Felixstowe was the sixth person to be arrested over the incident that took place in Siloam Place last month.

He was this morning taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning, where he has been bailed to return to on January 27, 2017 pending further enquiries.

Police were called to an address in Siloam Place just after 12.20am on November 22 to reports of a loud noise.

A few minutes later they received another call – this time from the ambulance service – reporting someone had been attacked there and had injuries to his upper arms.

No-one was found when police arrived at the scene, but at 1.20am another call was taken reporting an 18-year-old man had arrived at Ipswich Hospital with a suspected gunshot wound to his shoulder.

He received treatment for his injuries, which were not life-threatening.

Four other men arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on November 22 after the incident were bailed until February 21, 2017.

A fifth, 28-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on November 26 and has since been bailed to return on February 23, 2017.

Enquiries are ongoing.
