Police have launched an arson investigation after a suspicious fire spread inside a disused building at Ipswich docks.
Six fire crews were called to the scene at Cliff Quay just after 9.30pm on Sunday night.
Three Ipswich East crews were joined by colleagues from Princes Street station, Woodbridge and Holbrook.
The fire started outside a disused building, according to Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.
Flames then spread inside the four-storey structure, measuring 60m by 40m.
“An external fire spread to the ground and first floor,” said a fire service spokesman.
“Firefighters used a nine-metre ladder and breathing apparatus. A ‘stop message’ was received at 10.17pm.”
Police are treating the fire as arson and have appealed for anyone with information to call 101 quoting the reference number 37/8206/19.
