Firefighters were called to a suspicious blaze which broke out in a shed in Clarkson Street last night.

Crews arrived at the scene at around 8.50pm and the fire was under control by 9.05pm.

Police have been informed and it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

An earlier building blaze in the same street, which crews were called to at around 6.40am on Monday, is the subject of an ongoing arson investigation.

A police spokesman said: “An office building was broken into yesterday morning. We are treating this incident as burglary and arson, and a bag of tools was stolen from the property.

“The fire was started on the first floor of the building”.

Anyone with information about the first fire should call Suffolk police on 101 quoting crime reference 24879/16.
