POLICE have released two women on bail following their arrest in relation to a vicious sword attack in Ipswich.

POLICE have released two women on bail following their arrest in relation to a vicious sword attack in Ipswich.

The women, aged 25 and 35, were held by police after another woman was brutally assaulted at her home on the Chantry estate.

Police were called to a flat in Orchid Close at 1am on Saturday where a 26-year-old woman had been punched and kicked and suffered serious facial injuries as a result of the sword attack.

The victim was taken to Ipswich Hospital where was treated for her wounds.

Both women, arrested on suspicion of the attack, have been told they must return to Ipswich Police station on June 10 to answer bail.
