Can you recognise these Ipswich pubs in our old picture quiz? Maybe you have had a beverage in one!

We take a look at photos of past and present Ipswich public houses.

Ipswich has seen dozens of public houses close in recent years, including its very oldest, The Old Bell Inn.

The Old Bell Inn which was located on Stoke Street, was believed to have been there since 1639 - until it closed in 2007.

Foxhall Road’s The Blooming Fuchsia is another one which we have said goodbye to. It had been there since 1862.

The pub was then demolished and replaced with six new houses.

Ipswich’s Spotted Cow pub, which was located on Bramford Road, is yet another that has been lost to housing developments.

However, the pace of losses has now slowed and many community pubs are run by volunteers.
