Talks to cut costs of redundancies

TRADE unions have held talks with Suffolk County Council bosses over new redundancy proposals as the authority prepares to make savings of £24million.It said the current system to pay for redundancies was “very expensive” and could mean even more job cuts to meet the cost.

On Tuesday, council officials met representatives of public sector workers' union Unison to discuss the budget problems and redundancy proposals.
