A tea party was held for parents, staff and children at the pre-school, which runs from St Mary’s Church Hall on Woodbridge Road, on Thursday.

The pre-school received the outstanding rating, the top rating available, in all four of Ofted’s monitoring categories: effectiveness of the leadership and management; quality of teaching, learning and assessment; personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children.

The report praised a “well qualified, skilled staff team” and said: “Children are exceptionally happy, settled and very confident in their surroundings.”

Beverley Meekings, pre-school manager, said: “We are all so pleased with the result and this can only be achieved with great team work and dedication.

“We will continue to develop our practise and keep up the ‘outstanding’ work.”
