Teacher court case dropped

JOHN Troupe, an Ipswich school teacher who displayed explicit pictures of his ex wife outside his home has had a charge against him discontinued.

The 57-year-old failed to turn up at South East Suffolk Magistrates Court in Ipswich yesterday on a charge of intimidating a witness.

The 57-year-old failed to turn up at South East Suffolk Magistrates Court in Ipswich yesterday on a charge of intimidating a witness. The hearing was scheduled for 2.15pm but there was no sign of Troupe.

The case was then discontinued.

Troupe, of Notcutts, East Bergholt, is already serving a community service order for 60 hours and has been placed on a restraining order preventing him from having any contact with his ex wife. After he pleaded guilty to three charges of harassment. One of which was against his wife.

The court heard at his previous hearing how he had waved an explicit picture of his ex wife outside the home of Sarah Titchmarsh, Maureen Troupe's daughter from a previous marriage.

In defence Stephen Colman said: "His actions had been in the aftermath of a divorce which had been a difficult time for him."
