A teenage motorcyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Ipswich last night.

A white Citroen C4 and a Gilera motorcycle were involved in a “serious” collision at the junction of Bishops Hill and Nacton Road at 8.45pm, police said.

The 18-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious leg fractures and injuries to his head and arm. He was taken by road ambulance to Ipswich Hospital but was transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries. He remains in a critical condition.
