POLICE have questioned a 13-year-old girl after a fire at a children's home in Essex left the building severely damaged.
Thousands of pounds of damage was caused when the blaze took hold in a room at Jacques Hall, in Harwich Road, Manningtree, shortly before 5.25pm yesterday.
Other parts of the building suffered severe smoke damage.
No one was hurt in the incident and residents at the home have not been moved out. However, the working of the home has been seriously disrupted.
The 13-year-old was arrested on suspicion of arson and continues to be questioned by police.
