A TEENAGE pedestrian who died after a collision on the former Bentwaters airbase has today been named as Adam Trevor Brand, of Bramford Road, Ipswich.
An investigation into the 19-year-old's death was launched after he died as a result of a collision with a single decker bus at the East Coast Extreme motoring event at the Rendlesham base yesterday .
Police were called just after 8pm by the ambulance service, who reported there had been a serious road traffic collision on the site involving a bus and a pedestrian.
Mr Brand was airlifted to Ipswich Hospital by RAF helicopter but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Suffolk Police said it was thought the bus was one of two being used to transport visitors around the site during the event, which attracted more than 15,000 people.
Officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident or anyone who has video or camera footage of the buses prior to or at the time of the collision to contact them.
Anyone with information should call Pc Dave Taylor on 01473 613 730.
