AN Ipswich teenager's stolen car has been found – but she doesn't have much reason to celebrate.

Rebecca Keeble's pride and joy, a J-registration Ford Fiesta, had been trashed by the thieves, and she is now waiting to hear from her insurance company whether it will be a write-off.

"It was found in a car park in the Star Lane area, a couple of hundred yards from where it had been stolen," said Rebecca, 17, from Fairway, Bixley Farm, who only passed her test three months ago.

"There were wires hanging out, broken windows, the aerials ripped out and damage to the wing, wheel arch and bumper."

Rebecca's car was stolen while she was celebrating her partner's 20th birthday with his parents. She had parked the car near the Top Banana restaurant on Lower Orwell Street, Ipswich.

However, when she returned it had gone, and she was forced to call her parents in order to get home. The car is worth £1,700 and also had stereo equipment worth £200.

"It is upsetting and a lot of hassle," said Rebecca. "My parents have been driving for about 25 years and nothing like this has ever happened to them – I've only been driving three months and this has happened to me."

If you have any information about the crime, please contact Suffolk Police on 01473 613500, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
