A TEENAGE driver was discovered trapped in a roadside ditch– 17 hours after being forced off the road by another motorist who appeared to be "racing".

The 19-year-old woman was released by police officers and ambulance crews after a member of the public spotted her Chevrolet car beside the road at Burnt Fen, Mildenhall, shortly after 5pm yesterday.

She was later able to tell police that her car had been struck on the front wing at around midnight by a white car travelling in the opposite direction, which she said appeared to have been racing with another vehicle.

The driver, whose injuries were not thought to be serious, lives in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, and was treated at RAF Lakenheath.
