FOUR teenagers from Israel have admitted developing and sending the Goner Worm which has caused problems for computer users across the world.

The four were arrested at the weekend – and could face between three and five years in jail.

Officials said one of the group had admitted creating the destructive virus, which gets into a computer if an email attachment is opened.

Once in a computer, it destroys programmes on the hard disk before reading the address book and sending itself on to every address there.

Goner Worm has been creating havoc everywhere and The Evening Star has managed to intercept any emails coming in to the company.

It is not sure how much longer the virus will continue to invade the technology and computer users are urged to carry on being vigilant of any new offers by email to download a new home page.
