A free, 10-week computer music course teaching youngsters how to compose, record and mix music starts at Suffolk New College in Ipswich later this month.

Youngsters aged between 13 and 16 thinking about a career in the music industry can sign up to the new Computer Music Club, which will run every Monday between 4.30pm and 6pm from April 24 for 10 weeks.

The course is led by Suffolk New College music technology lecturer Nigel Champion. Youngsters will get to use the latest computer technology to record music in the studio, and mix and master tracks.

Mr Champion said: “This is a fantastic free course for youngsters aged between 13 and 16 who have a passion for music and want to learn new skills.

“Maybe you would like a career in the music industry or maybe you just want to have a go at something different – either way, the course is a great introduction to computer music.”
