Ipswich Magistrates Court on Elm Street.

Four 14-year-olds have denied an arson charge accusing them of setting fire to stables in Trimley St Mary and causing up to £100,000 worth of damage.

Three boys and one girl appeared in Suffolk’s youth court in Ipswich yesterday charged with arson.

The charge relates to the destruction of Walton Stables in Trimley St Mary on July 4.

All four pleaded not guilty to the charge, which accuses the teenagers of destroying stables belonging to Trinity College Cambridge by setting fire to them.

They are accused of intending to destroy the building, and causing between £60,000 and £100,000 worth of damage by being reckless.

District Judge Celia Dawson adjourned their case until January 9. All four were granted unconditional bail until then.
