SIX teenagers are being sought in connection with a fire which destroyed a cricket club's storage hut at Felixstowe.
Police said the group of youngsters was seen on the cricket ground at Coronation Park off Mill Lane around 1am to 2am on Wednesday .
Firefighters were called to the sports ground around 2.40am with the six by three metre hut - used by the Felixstowe Corinthians for storing kit, making refreshments and for scorekeepers - well alight.
The crews managed to stop the blaze spreading to nearby gardens adjoining the sports field. All that remains of the building is charred wood and a metal sink.
A police spokeswoman said: “Inquiries by police into the incident are under way and officers are keen to trace the group who were seen there in the early hours.”
The club has been negotiating a new lease with the council and has looked at the possibility of seeking lottery funding for a more substantial and durable building.
