THOUSANDS of motorists faced ten-mile tailbacks on the A12 this morning after two separate incidents blocked the carriageway.
Just before 7am a pick-up truck collided with the central reservation and overturned on the London bound carriageway blocking the road.
The blue Nissan Cabstar crashed near to the Ardleigh interchange and an Essex police spokesman said the accident resulted in no injuries to the driver.
Meanwhile at around 7.45am a blue Renault van broke down on the London bound carriageway near to Capel St Mary.
The incident added to the delays, as the road was closed and blocked in two places, resulting in reports of ten-mile tailbacks as far as the Copdock interchange.
Suffolk police said the road was beginning to clear by 8.15am and reopened at the Ardleigh junction at about 8.30am.
