A concert hosted by an award winning choir in Hadleigh on Saturday raised more than £1,000 for two Suffolk causes.
The Big Sing Gospel Voices performed to a packed audience of more than 200 at the United Reformed Church, with the choir led by Jon Rattenbury.
It is the third time that The Big Sing, which was named Gospel Choir of the Year by Songs of Praise last year, has performed at the event, organised by the Hadleigh Thrift Shop.
A total of £1,140 was raised, which will be split between the Hadleigh Dementia Alliance and East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Barbara Boyd, owner of Hadleigh Thrift Shop, said: “It was wonderful, beyond our expectations.
“This is the third one we have done with The Big Sing from London and it hasn’t been as well attended before.
“It just went brilliantly. We are going to be able to give £500 for each charity.
“It was fantastic.
“We finished with their version of Amazing Grace. The whole congregation was singing with them.
“The audience really joined in very well. The atmosphere was absolutely electric. The church was packed with people.
“Huge thanks to Tracey Loynds and all the volunteers who helped make everything run so smoothly and evening such a great success.”
