The Great Get Together at Ipswich’s Northgate High School aimed to address the differing rates by which Suffolk students access higher education.

The Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach’s Take Your Place event featured sessions themed on “unity” including talks from writer Dave Smith and Frank Bright, whose experiences as a holocaust survivor were said to “inspire and educate”.

Sessions included singing, an immigrant’s story, dance, yoga and lifestyle workshops.

Organiser Miles Cole said: “Today’s event is important for bringing together the community and school and helping young people realise their futures, find their passions and tap into their potential.”
