Children at a Suffolk school’s summer fair were given a tour of an ambulance and the chance to play with its lights and sirens.

Marcus Leeper and Ali Mackay from the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) attended Causton Primary School in Felixstowe to talk about their emergency roles.

Mr Mackay said he enjoyed talking to people about his work. “The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of looking around the ambulance and of course, playing with the lights and sirens was a huge hit,” he added. “We were also able to engage with parents, with some showing interest in the community first responder scheme which is a really valuable part of the ambulance service.”

Lizzie Girling, Head Teacher of Causton Primary School, said: “The children and parents were fascinated by the ambulance and especially enjoyed talking to Marcus and Ali. The siren was a big hit with all of us.”
