FELIXSTOWE-based Stage Door Theatre Company has secured the rights to perform the wonderful Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I.
Anita Lord, artistic director of the company, said: "Before the rights' holders gave us permission to perform this show they consulted the people behind the London show and the National Tour.
"The wait seemed forever, but naturally we are delighted to get permission to perform this show"
The company, which has been performing since 1988, will begin rehearsals soon and has issued an open invitation to anyone who would like to be involved, and is especially looking for men and women dancers.
"All ages and abilities are welcome, whilst we like to encourage young talent we would welcome mature newcomers to the company. Whether you want to be involved on stage or off you will be made more than welcome," said Mrs Lord.
On Sunday at Felixstowe Trade and Labour Club, High Road West, the first pre-audition will be held at 10am, followed by others on Monday June 10, Thursday June 13 and Friday June 14, at Old Felixstowe Community Association, Church Road, Felixstowe, at 7.30pm.
The auditions will be at Felixstowe Trade and Labour Club at 10am on June 16.
Further information is available from Anita Lord on 01473 787436.
