THEFT of four cans of lager and a box of crisps have landed two Suffolk men in court.
Alcoholic Ian Keenor, 45, of Heath View, Kesgrave pleaded guilty at South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court to stealing four cans of strong lager from Tesco in Martlesham on March 10.
Craig Pugh, 20, of Fitzwilliam Close, Woodbridge admitted stealing an £11.75 box of crisps from the back of a van being unloaded into a shop on March 8.
Both men have previous records but Keenor, a former heroin addict, had been out of trouble since 2002 and Pugh, who also had a drink problem, had been complying with a probation order to turn his life around.
Keenor was conditionally discharged for a year and Pugh was told to do 40 hours unpaid work for the community and was to continue with the probation order.
