There’s an awful lot of coffee in a Macmillan fundraising morning!

Coffee-lovers and cake fans had a great time – and helped boost Macmillan Cancer Support at a series of events across the region on Friday.

The Great Coffee Morning encouraged people to get together for a cuppa and a cake to raise funds for the charity – and all over the area friends and colleagues did just that.

In Aldeburgh Ruby Nichols, a pupil at Coldfair Green Primary, went even further – she had her hair cut off as part of the Little Princess scheme to provide wigs to children who have lost their own hair. Her efforts raised £600 for the charity.

At Otley College staff came together to back the event for the seventh year in a row. Together with their colleagues at Easton in Norfolk they raised more than £200.

And in Colchester staff employed by rail company Greater Anglia at their administration centre enjoyed a tasty morning break, raising £170 for Macmillan in the process.

All lines were blocked after a lorry collided with a railway bridge between Ipswich and Stowmarket.
