IPSWICH'S streets resounded with the rumble of alternative mode of transport during a sponsored pub crawl – in humble wheelbarrows!
Fourteen people were taking part in a sponsored wheelbarrow race organised by the Hare and Hounds pub on Norwich Road, which took in five other Ipswich watering holes that donated halves of lager to the thirsty participants.
Two to a team, they visited The Rose and Crown, The Inkerman, the Freemasons' Arms, The Three Jolly Sailors and The Victoria.
The wheelbarrows were lent to organisers by Ipswich Borough Council.
The event was held to raise money for the Children Victims of Crime Charity.
"It was great day," said Hare and Hounds landlady Linda Smith. "We had a raffle, a barbecue and karaoke afterwards."
