Thief runs down supermarket worker

A SUPERMARKET worker was run over as he tried to stop a thief escaping with goods.

The incident happened at the Safeways store in Beccles at around 4.

A SUPERMARKET worker was run over as he tried to stop a thief escaping with goods.

The incident happened at the Safeways store in Beccles at around 4.10pm yesterday.

The offender drove his blue Ford Escort car at the man, who suffered a broken shoulder, tissue damage and severe concussion.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
