Police and the family are appealing for any information so the video discs can be returned.

The home in Jaguar Close was broken into between 6.30am on Saturday December 19 and 11.45am on Monday January 4, and items including the camcorder, an iPhone and an Xbox One were stolen.

The camcorder itself is around 10 years old and therefore of little financial value, however the discs feature key family events and footage of the householder’s late husband who passed away when his children were very young.

The discs were being saved so they could watch them when they are older to see their father and are of priceless sentimental value.

If you have been offered any similar items or if you have any information about who stole them or where they are now, or if you saw any suspicious activity in Jaguar Close between these dates, please call DC Reuben Brame at Ipswich by dialling Suffolk Police on 101 and quoting crime number 10600/16.

Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555 111, or drop off the camcorder and discs at any police station.
