A THIRD woman involved in a horror crash in which two women died is now fighting for her life, police have revealed.

The three women were believed to have been on their way home from a private function when a silver Citroen Saxo car collided with them on Foxhall Road before crashing into a wall.

The two women who died area thought to be aged 25 and 26 and are not related. Police will not reveal the identities of the women until all family members have been informed.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said it is not yet clear in which direction the women were walking along the road when the accident happened at around 12.15am today.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving remains in Ipswich Hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.

A 22-year-old woman who was also arrested in connection with the incident is currently in custody at Ipswich Police Station.

The car they were in was travelling out of town at the time and police are renewing appeals for anyone who saw the collision, or anyone who may have seen the Saxo being driven in the area prior to the crash, to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team at police headquarters on 01473 613500.
