The Pretty Muddy grubby challenge was held at Trinity Park near Ipswich yesterday as part Cancer Research UK’s much-loved Race for Life series.

For the first time ever the charity hosted a children’s edition, as well as its well established women-only event.

In total, 640 under 12s took on Pretty Muddy Kids, which involved scramble nets, space hoppers, mud chutes and muddy pools.

The adult version attracted 1,540 fearless females.

The two races raised £117,500 for Cancer Research UK.

Today, hundreds of women will attempt either a 5k or 10k run at Trinity Park.

The Race for Life weekend in Suffolk is expected to bring in a grand total of £178,000 for the worthy cause.
