MASKED robbers have escaped with several thousand pounds after an armed raid on a village post office at Wormingford near Bures.The raiders were armed with a shotgun and a baseball bat.
MASKED robbers have escaped with several thousand pounds after an armed raid on a village post office at Wormingford near Bures.
The raiders were armed with a shotgun and a baseball bat. They struck at the Post Office and General Stores at Church Road just before 1pm yesterday.
Postmaster John Brewer escaped through a back door of the shop after being confronted by intruders, who then fled with the cash.
Mr Brewer was not injured but police said he was left severley shaken by the ordeal.
