POLICE have arrested three men in connection with a serious assault that left a 47-year-old man unconscious.

POLICE have arrested three men in connection with a serious assault that left a 47-year-old man unconscious.

The incident happened in the Cattlemarket car park, Portman Road, Ipswich, in the early hours of Saturday March 8.

Tonight police confirmed a 16-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, but is from the Norwich Road area of the town, had been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH).

Scott Warren, 18, of Palfrey Heights, Brantham, has also been charged with GBH and three counts of theft while Richard Smith, 22, of Furness Close, Ipswich, has been charged with GBH, three counts of theft and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance, a spokesman said.

They have all been bailed to appear at the South East Suffolk Magistrates Court at 9.30am on Wednesday, June 11.
