A 19-year-old woman reported being attacked by three men near an Ipswich park in the early hours of this morning.

Police are now asking anyone who may have been in the Alderman Park/Alderman Road area of town at about 1.50am to come forward with information.

Officers were contacted around 9am by a woman who said she was sitting on a park bench when she was approached by three men.

They demanded she hand over cash and threatened her, but she had no money on her, and moments later the males were disturbed by a member of the public, who was walking along a path a short distance away, and they fled.

One of the suspects was described as being around 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build and wearing a dark hooded top. Another was around 5ft 5ins tall, of large build and also wearing a dark hooded top and the third around 5ft 3ins tall, of slim build, wearing red trainers with a white Nike tick on.

Police would like to speak to that member of the public and anyone else who may have been in the area around this time, or anyone who may have information about who the three males are.
