Three people hurt in crash

THREE people were taken to hospital today, two with broken bones, after a crash involving two vehicles on the outskirts of Ipswich.The head on collision involved a green Ford Fiesta and a grey Mazda and happened on the B1456 near the water tower between Ipswich and Freston.

Emergency services were called around midnight and found one person trapped in a vehicle.

Firefighters from Holbrook and Ipswich released one casualty from the Fiesta and he was taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance.

The 40-year-old drive suffered a broken leg and facial injuries.

A 38-year-old female passenger of the Mazda fractured her right wrist and sustained bruising and was also taken to Ipswich Hospital. The male driver from Ipswich was taken to hospital but was later released.
