THREE men were due to return from police bail today to be questioned about an attack on an American tourist in Ipswich.

THREE men were due to return from police bail today to be questioned about an attack on an American tourist in Ipswich.

The 26-year-old was assaulted near the junction of Palmerston Road and St Helen's Street at 11pm on Thursday.

He suffered slash wounds to his back but the injuries were not life-threatening.

Police arrested two men on suspicion of robbery, and a third man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
