Man dies after lorry crash on A120

A man in his 20s has died and another person is in a life-threatening condition after a three vehicle crash on the A120 between Marks Tey and Coggeshall.
The collision, involving a lorry, car and van, happened near Salmons Corner on the A120 (Coggeshall Road) at roughly 7am this morning.
It is believed that a white Ford Fiesta travelling towards Colchester collided with a lorry, which had been travelling in the opposite direction towards Coggeshall.
A Transit flatbed van which had been travelling behind the Fiesta then also collided with the lorry, which overturned.
Essex Police have confirmed that the driver of the Fiesta, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
His next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by officers.
The driver of the Transit van was also taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Both the driver of the lorry and a passenger in the Fiesta were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Motorists are being warned of delays for the remainder of the day, as officers work to clear the scene.
The road is currently closed in both directions between the A12 at J25 (Marks Tey) and the B1024 near Coggeshall.
Forensic recovery of the vehicles will take a number of hours, and police say it is likely that the A120 will remain closed both ways for the rest of the day.
There was also a large fuel spillage where the lorry overturned – meaning the road will need to be resurfaced.
Witnesses or anyone who captured dash cam footage of the incident are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01245 240590 or email CollisionAppeal@essex.pnn.police.uk
