The presents have been opened and the last of the turkey eaten, but these pictures from December 1988 will hopefully help the festive spirit to continue.
Today’s gallery features some of the many doctors and nurses who worked at Ipswich Hospital on Christmas Day, as well as those who worked in the control rooms to answer emergency service calls.
In the same month, the Mayor of Ipswich William A Quinton visited the town hall to send off Father Christmas, Rudolph and members of the Ipswich Roundtable in their annual tour across the town. The event has now been running for more than 40 years.
We also visited the Ipswich sorting office to capture pictures of the workers during their busiest time of year.
