A snow day at Christchurch Park, Springfield Follies and the Eastern Counties Cross Country all feature in our Throwback Thursday gallery today.
We have delved in to our archives to see what happened in Ipswich in January 1976.
We had a flurry of snow at the weekend, and this gallery shows similar scenes from January 1976. It was the perfect opportunity for children - and adults - to grab a sledge and enjoy some old fashioned fun.
The Eastern Counties Cross County was running at Chantry Park, as was the annual cross country at Ipswich School.
January 1976 also saw amateur dramatic group Springield Follies, who are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year, preparing for their annual pantomime, which was Robinson Crusoe.
Ipswich Town FC held a kids party at the Manor Ballroom, which was enjoyed by all, and there was a life saving class at St Matthew’s Baths where youngsters were shown first aid.
