WITH less than a fortnight to go before the Evening Star Northumbrian takes hundreds of Suffolk people for a day out to some of the biggest tourist attractions in northern England, there are still tickets available.

The train will run from Ipswich to York, Durham and Newcastle.

Passengers from Felixstowe and stations on that branch will be able to use their tickets on a connecting Anglia Railways service – and the special train will go to Felixstowe in the evening.

At Durham special buses will be waiting to take people the short journey to Beamish open air museum, one of the wonders of northern England.

For those people travelling through to the end of the trip, at Newcastle Upon Tyne, there's a real treat awaiting.

The city has been transformed over the last 10 years and is now one of the most vibrant places in Europe.

As well as impressive new art galleries and bridges over the River Tyne just a short walk from the station, there is an astonishing new Life Science Centre in the heart of the city only yards from where you'll get off the train.

This lottery-funded centre tells the story of life in a fun interactive way and is one of the most popular new tourist attractions in the region.

Among the most popular tickets on the train are the Premier Class seats which include all meals served at your seat a full English breakfast a light lunch (or packed lunch for those getting off at York) and a full evening dinner. These cost £104.50 for adults and £89.50 for children.

There are still a few of these left – but numbers of them are now limited so you need to book quickly.

The train also has standard class seats only at £43.75 adults and £21.75 for children. First class non-dining seats have sold out.

Tickets can be booked by phone on 01692 406152 between 9am and 9.30pm seven days a week.

They can also be booked by post from Nenta Traintours, Railtour House, 10 Buxton Road, North Walsham, NR28 0ED or by e mailing enquiries@nentatraintours co uk
