WHILE shoppers filled their baskets, a gang of three thieves brazenly filled their pockets with cash from two tills.

The daring raid happened at Felixstowe's Marks & Spencer store.

Two of the men kept look-out while their colleague opened the unattended tills and took out money – before walking out of the front door of the store.

Detective Sergeant Jeremy Curtis said: "We are following up a number of leads and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area during the afternoon.

"We believe the men may have headed along Hamilton Road, down an alleyway into Highfield Road and could have been in the vicinity of the pay and display car park here.

The men entered the store in Hamilton Road at around 2.30pm on Monday afternoon and approached an unattended cash desk. It is not known how much cash they stole.

They left the store and made off on foot.

The first man is described as white, of large stocky build, aged 25 to 30, and was wearing a white hooded top with black writing on it.

The second man is believed to be of mixed race, is of slim to medium build and was wearing a beige zip-up jacket, while the third man is white of small build, and was wearing dark jeans and a black sweat shirt with white writing on it.

Anyone who recognises the crooks' description or has information about the raid should contact Felixstowe CID on 01473 383300.
