WHEN your under-15 football team is struggling for a kit sponsor, who better to help out than a millionaire Premier League footballer?
WHEN your under-15 football team is struggling for a kit sponsor, who better to help out than a millionaire Premier League footballer?
That's what happened to Witnesham Wasps under-15s, who play in the South Suffolk League.
The boys had all grown during the summer break, and desperately needed new shirts and shorts, but things looked bleak until along came the answer to their prayers - in the shape of former Ipswich Town star Titus Bramble.
The Wigan defender is the cousin of Witnesham midfielder Liam Tozer, and was only too happy to help out. Team manager Paul Rolland was delighted.
“I couldn't believe it was true,” he said, “Liam said his cousin was a footballer, but nothing new there I thought - most boys have a cousin who plays football. I had no idea it was Titus.”
So, the Witnesham lads will be turning out in brand new kit this year, thanks to the Premier League star. He might even find the time to go along and watch his team at some time during the season!
