Top Gear test driver, The Stig, has set a blistering world record at an airfield just outside Woodbridge.
The mysterious Stig hurtled down the runway at the former Bentwaters airfield in a souped-up bumper car, created by daredevil inventor and online star Colin Furze, who squeezed a 600cc Honda motorbike engine into the 1960s fairground ride, before testing it out and putting The Stig behind the wheel.
The 100bhp bumper car clocked in a record speed of 100.336mph, watched by Guinenss World Records adjudicator Lucia Sinigagliesi, who said: 'We're all used to seeing The Stig driving at high speeds but he's usually in a sports car and usually on a race track.
'To see him hurtle past in a classic bumper car at 100mph was surreal, but hugely impressive. Equally as impressive is the engineering expertise of Colin Furze. The combination of skills makes for record-breaking fun.'
