A top international pianist is coming to Ipswich for the Chopin in the Park concert which is set to take place in Holywells Park this September.

The picturesque walled garden in Holywells Park will be the backdrop for the evening, which celebrates the work of the famous composer.

The concert begins at 6.30pm on Sunday, September 2, where families can bring a picnic to enjoy alongside the composer’s finest works.

An Ipswich Borough Council events spokesman said: “Distinguished international pianist Christine Stevenson will play a selection of the composer’s haunting nocturnes, etudes and preludes,” and added that the event, “will be attended by the Director of the Polish Cultural Institute, Robert Szaniawski, and the mayor of Ipswich, Sarah Barber.”
