EASTBOURNE'S finest are in town today and ready to rock the Regent.

Toploader, who have enjoyed huge success with singles such as the smash hit Dancing In The Moonlight, take to the stage at the Ipswich theatre tonight.

The concert is sold out, just as it was when the band first performed live in town in March last year.

In the time that has passed the band have added to their musical repertoire with a new album, Magic Hotel.

For most of the band's Suffolk-based fans it will be the first chance they have had to catch the new material played live.

Toploader formed in the sleepy East Sussex coastal town of Eastbourne as a way of combating the boredom they were suffering and as a possible means of escape.

Since then Joe Washbourn, Matt Knight, Dan Hipgrave, Julian Deane and Rob Green have not looked back.

Sell out tours across the UK, performances for the Queen's jubilee and the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, and the accolade of being the last British band to perform live at Wembley stadium are just a few of the highlights and successes that have followed.

Their new music may not have been as well lauded by the critics as debut album Onka's Big Moka and a track as equally successful as Dancing In The Moonlight may still have eluded them but their current UK tour is almost completely sold out.

It's an indication that despite what others may say Toploader fans are still happy with what they're hearing.

n Toploader are at the Regent tonight supported by fellow Eastbourne band easyworld >. The concert starts at 7.30pm. It is sold out.
