TORIES in Ipswich were today licking their wounds after being trounced at the polls in the town.The party had hoped to end 23 years of Labour rule in Civic Centre.

The party had hoped to end 23 years of Labour rule in Civic Centre.

In the event they saw the number of seats they hold cut by a third, lost their deputy leader, and were left with no councillors in their former stronghold of St. Margarets.
