TORY party chairman Caroline Spelman is to visit Ipswich on Monday.
The MP will meet leading Conservative members of Ipswich Borough Council.
She said: “I have been delighted to see the Conservative-led administration in Ipswich taking important initiatives on a great many issues, particularly on social problems, such as prostitution and alcohol abuse.
“These are issues of concern to so many people and the new strategies are already making a big difference to people's lives.”
Council leader Elizabeth Harsant said: “In the last three years, since taking over from Labour, we have worked hard to deliver what the people of Ipswich voted for - a transformation in services but with low council tax increases.
