THERE was chaos on the A14 today after three lorries and a van collided causing a huge congestion headache for drivers.

The accident happened at around 11.30am near to Cambridge on the Bar Hill stretch of the road.

A driver of one of the lorries was seriously injured in the collision, which took place on the eastbound carriageway causing massive tailbacks.

And there were further delays on the westbound carriageway as drivers slowed down to look at the crash debris.

The road was closed between Godmanchester and Bar Hill with police setting up diversions to keep traffic moving. It was anticipated that the stretch of road would be closed until late afternoon.

Police appealed to drivers to use other routes if possible.
