MOTORISTS were warned to stay away from the Copdock roundabout today after the trailer of a lorry flipped over blocking the carriageway.

The trailer prevented northbound traffic from the A12 gaining access on to the A14 eastbound or westbound or into Ipswich on the A1214.

The driver of the 40ft container lorry was not thought to be injured in the incident which happened at around 9.30am today.

Traffic was said to be flowing well in the other direction and cars were able to go straight across the roundabout on to the London bound A12.

A police spokeswoman said: “The trailer of a 40ft container lorry overturned on the roundabout.

“This is likely to cause long delays. We are currently trying to organise recovery.”
