TAILBACKS were caused in the Landseer Road and Duke Street areas of Ipswich today due to police carrying out safety checks in the area.
As part of a week of action for National Road Safety week, Suffolk police were stopping vehicles in the Bridge Street area of the town using automatic number plate recognition systems and looking out for drivers who were using mobile phones or not wearing seatbelts.
