Rail passengers travelling from London to Clacton, Colchester and Ipswich tonight are facing cancelled trains or delays of up to 45 minutes due to a defective track on the outskirts of London.
Trains running from London Liverpool Street to Shenfield, Southend Victoria, Clacton, Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich will be disrupted until 10pm tonight.
The problem is due to a speed restriction over defective track at Gidea Park near Romford.
A Greater Anglia spokeswoman said trains running through stations on the line may be cancelled or delayed by up to 45 minutes. She said: “We are sorry if your journey is affected by this problem.
“Network Rail Engineers are working as quickly as possible to resolve this problem and restore a normal train service.”
